  • 2018 The Sadie Family ‘Columella’ Red

    $129.99

    Winemaker Notes

The presence of Syrah is in decline in the final blend and the influence of Grenache, Cinsaut, Carignan and Tinta Barocca is more pronounced. The Mourvèdre component is the strongest it has ever been and has brought an amazing dynamic about in terms of the finishing of the wine – persistence.

2018 is a wine with a big temperament: explosive, but not excessive. It is like a plane with perfect aerodynamics, flying effortlessly; very much in line with 2001, 2008, and 2011.

  • THE CURATOR, WHITE BLEND SWARTLAND

    $12.99

The Chardonnay was naturally fermented and took a long time to complete fermentation, resulting in great texture and wacky aromas of dried peaches and apricots and ripe citrus. The Viognier, from one of Badenhorsts favorite growers and vineyards, completes the Swartland canvas and brings some spice and palate length to the wine.

  • The Sadie Family PALLADIUS 2018

    $119.99

Meyer lemon pith, raw honeycomb, wax melon, and yellow apple skin. Medium-bodied, the 13.5% alcohol wine is majestic on the palate, displaying a tightly wound mineral tension, a waxy and textural mouthfeel, and a kiss of phenolic bitterness to make this absolutely food-friendly and age-worthy.
