Personally selected by Giorgio Rivetti, these wines represent important Italian wine regions and its local grape varieties. Following our philosophy, the wines are made from high quality, carefully farmed grapes and are true representations of their terroir.
Clear yellow colour with green highlights. Intense fruity bouquet of citrus and exotic fruits. Fresh in the mouth with good acidity and the unique hint of salinity typical of Picquepoul.
Brilliant straw yellow color; perlage extremely fine and lively. Intense and fresh nose of citrus fruits and saline sensations. Fruit-forward, refreshing sip.
Pinot Grigio is a grape particularly at home in northeast Italy. This 100% Pinot Grigio has a deeply perfumed floral and tropical nose and bright, striking straw yellow color. Velvety smooth and persistent on the long finish, notes of ripe melon, juicy citrus fruit and a clean mineral edge feature on the full, balanced palate.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes
Rich aromas of ripe black cherry, Mission fig and dark chocolate
mingle with a spice box of clove and nutmeg. The palate is filled with
flavors of juicy blackberry and boysenberry that are enveloped in
silky tannins, showing complexity beyond its years. Enticing flavors of
fresh vanilla bean and hazelnut carry through a velvety richness that
lingers on the finish. Enjoy now after decanting for 45 minutes or cellar
through 2038.
Flavor Profile : Dense and velvety, with vanilla and ripe black currants. Aromatics : Anise, black fruit and cassis.
Our approach to Pinot Noir is very similar to Chardonnay but we have two clones. For the last 25 years, we’ve been working on selecting which of the two we preferred and we finally concluded that the answer was both. We’ve been planting our newer Pinot Noir Vineyards with a field mix of the two selections of late, giving deference to neither and laying the groundwork for our next generation of Pinot Noirs to be as transparent to site, and their relativity to each other, as are our Chardonnays. Both selections are marked by very low yields, small berries, great concentration and color in the fruit, and a propensity to hold their natural acids during ripening.
The wines are composed of both French Dijon and heritage clones. They undergo extended maceration and cuvaison up to four weeks, and are aged 14 months in 100% new French oak barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Founded in 1978, Kistler Vineyards is a small, family-owned and operated winery specializing in the production of Burgundian-style Chardonnay and limited amounts of Pinot Noir. Grapes are estate-grown and purchased from vineyards in Sonoma County. In 1992, Kistler Vineyards moved all production to its Vine Hill Road Vineyard in the Russian River Valley.
Beautifully complex and soft aromatics of violets, cola, ripe fig and plum linger on the nose. The generous entry opens with bright, ripe blackberry and boysenberry, softening through the mid-palate with black cherry, cocoa, and allspice.
The Kobal brand puts the wines from the selected vineyards of Slovenian Styria (Štajerska) on the world’s wine map. The majority of our wines come from the vineyards located on steep slopes of Haloze that consist predominantly of marl and from the vines that average more than 35 years in age.
