    Winemaker Notes

With the 2019 vintage, we’ve slightly reduced overall oak aging to allow the wine’s freshness, bright acidity, and vibrant red fruit flavors to shine. This bright and expressive Cabernet is ideal for al fresco lunches and picnics, pairing beautifully with a variety of meals.

This shows lots of ripe dark and blue fruit on the nose, together with some leafy character. Notes of spices, cedar wood, and walnuts, too. Medium to full-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh, juicy-fruit profile. Polished and smooth with an array of succulent berries and blue flowers in the aftertaste. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years. Try after 2024.

This is a well-balanced red with small amounts of other varieties like Merlot. Spicy, it shows well-integrated oak and tannin within a taut, elegant and lengthy palate of blueberry and black currant.

A sleek, polished style, with cassis and plum notes driving through, carried by a graphite spine and backed by tobacco, briar and savory notes. Drink now.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon includes small proportions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec and was aged 16 months in 44% new French oak. For entry-level Napa, it’s a solid effort, marrying ripe cherries and hints of cassis with gentle notes of sage and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it’s soft enough to drink now, yet it shows enough velvety tannins to age at least through 2030. Nicely done.
  • CLOS SIGUIER, CAHORS MALBEC

    $18.99

Tasting Note: Deep purple in the glass with an amethyst rim. Plum, cherry, and blackberry fruit with cool black tea notes dominate the nose. A fruit-driven palate follows and is backed by pounded stones. This medium-bodied red has great minerality, moderate acidity and finishes with silken tannins.  Can be drunk young or aged. A versatile wine.

Pairing: Steak, veal stew, grilled sausages, roasts, lamb and strong aged cheeses.

  • COLOSSAL, RESERVA RED BLEND

With an intense rubi colour, this wine presents itself with a great concentration in the nose. • CORVIDAE, CHARDONNAY MIRTH WASHINGTON

    $15.99

Corvidae is the Latin name for the family of birds that includes the Crow, Raven, Jay and Magpie. These “dark” birds are everywhere in the vineyards of Eastern Washington. Their reputation as crafty, adaptable, and somewhat dubious characters is a fitting icon for our suspiciously terrific value wines from this region. The geology and climate…
